Not thought through well enough
I wanted to like this and after completing a multi hour interview with my mother just from questions I found on the internet, I thought this would be an excellent way to make interviewing my father easier. But completing the interview became very problematic.
1) I put together all the questions in advance and got ready to do the interview. When I started the process I wanted to check the sound and do a test recording to make sure we could hear everyone but theres no record/playback option. So I recorded and then stopped which forced me to choose to end the interview. I wasnt done - I hadnt even started. But I chose to end it and boom - all of my setup was gone because the interview was then deleted and I had to start over and setup the questions again which lost me valuable time.
2) Theres no pause option. Several times we were interrupted by phone calls and curious family members and my only option was to Stop and lose the whole interview again. This resulted in my having to start over and set up new questions again.
3) Predetermining the length of the interview is scary. Having not used it before I set it up for the 40 minute length and saw my countdown coming to a close. I started to panic and rush through questions because I thought the app would just stop recording after 40 minutes. It didnt but I could no longer see where I was pinning and starring things.
4) Theres no way to add a picture to the interview after its complete. I wanted to take a picture but we were being rushed because of an emergency situation that came up during mid interview. (Again, the no option to pause or continue the interview later became an issue.) I apparently hadnt granted the app permission to use my camera so it wouldnt take a picture. After the fact I granted it permission but wasnt allowed to add it to the completed interview.
