Love the idea, but after gathering grandma and grandpa, and 21 children and grandchildren, and recording a great 45 minute interview, the app crashed and we lost the recording. Very disappointing. App crashes often and needs work.

Honestly I like the idea of the whole app, but it has frustrated me so much. I tried uploading an interview but it just would not work, I soon gave up. I would not recommend this app at all. I wish I could give this app something lower than a one star.

My son’s school is participating in the #GreatListen. Unfortunately, we are unable to upload from our iTunes StoryCorps app or a recording on my Apple MacBook Pro. The screen looks like it is uploading but after waiting for over 1.5 hours and checking my son’s profile, the recording upload does not complete nor show in his profile. Love the idea, love StoryCorps on NPR but VERY disappointing for sure. BTW - the rating uses the words “I hate it” Hate is a powerful word and way too strong a word for an iTunes rating. This is the only reason I have given 2 stars otherwise I would give 1 star since the app is not operational.

Its pointless and has no real meaning.

After uploading my interview to the entire world, the app deleted all the content within the interview so i was left with only the picture. I couldnt even listen to the interview because it was deleted somehow!

This app should never have been released. Its broken. Im using an iPhone 5c with iOS 8.4.1. Ive spent the afternoon trying and re-trying to upload. It fails every time. No reason is ever given, just "upload failed". Since publishing the interview is the whole point, what is the reason for releasing this broken app?

Recording the interviews was a very enjoyable experience; being able to have cards showing the questions/notes and being able to pin points during the recording and highlighting great moments: excellent. Unfortunately, being unable to upload the interviews defeats the entire purpose of the app. Though it is nice to have the interviews available on the phone: When I logged in this morning, my interviews were missing. It showed me the "tutorials". Very disappointed.

I cant play back videos or share my interviews

It is not all bad I did it with my parent and my grandparent everything went fine

App is broken. Upload fails everytime (without fail lol.)

The concept is strong, the layout is good. The execution is frustrating at best. The app quits unexpectedly all the time. Creating my own questions consistently caused a crash of the app. And even uploading the story has been impossible. I tried many times on different wifi and each time it either stalls or flat out tells me there was an error. This app needs significant back end improvement to match the front end promise.

Im so disappointed. This was a wonderful idea gone bad because this app is so non-functional. These precious moments are so important. Please fix the upload problem! I have tried several times, left it for hours on my network and been unable to publish. Also when I replay it plays both saved interviews on top of each other and I cannot stop it...even after closing and reopening the app it continues to be a problem. There is no way to fast forward to a spot in the recording or start in the middle of the interview. All in all its a great disappointment.

My interview did not upload correctly, but I contacted tech support and they helped me retrieve it from the app so I didnt lose the audio. Great idea with just a few kinks to work out to make it perfect. Tech support was also very fast.

It really needs the option of searching for users to follow. There are several people I know that I would love to look up and follow in case they post something else, however I have yet to discover this feature. Overall great concept, but could be much more user friendly.

I was so excited about he whole StoryCorps concept! I spent hours preparing for the interview with my dad. I had great questions all lined up in the app. I did a test run the night before and all went well. When Dad and I sat down to do the interview I could not get the app to record. I had to quickly substitute with my moms phone so did not have the great questions but winged it from my notes. After the interview I could not get the app to save. Very disappointed and frustrated with the whole process. Please fix the bugs in your app so others do not have to go through what I did.

Amazing app very well done but still miles behind the website.

I took the time to record my 92 year old mom and now have screwed it all up by using this app - Oy vey - please have someone normal review and edit the apps features.

StoryCorps is fantastic but they dropped the ball on this app. Needs lots of love both in design and stability.

Tried on thanksgiving to create and upload an interview we recorded. Waited for hours with no luck. Prepared the day before. Very disappointing.
